Vinyl

Vinyl, also known as Vinilo, was a Latin American demoscene magazine. It was both in English and in Spanish. The only issue ever relased is available at scene.org.

Vinyl #1 was released on September 12th, 1999. It featured about 320 kb of articles, most of which were in Spanish. It was a text-only magazine without a coded interface. The editor of Vinyl was Arlequin of PVM.

The magazine was distributed as a collection of text files. Each text file contained articles on a particular topic. For example Vinyl01a.txt was the editorial, and Vinyl01b.txt focused on parties. There were reports of The Flash 1998 and OverSeas 1999 as well as reviews of some of the entries, but only a small part of these articles was translated to English. Vinyl01c.txt contained two coding tutorials, one in Spanish and the other bilingual. The bilingual one dealt with Phong Illumination. Vinyl01d.txt was about tracked music, it was in Spanish only. Vinyl01e.txt mostly contained articles about groups. The only English article in this file was about the Argentinan group "Darkness". Vinyl01f.txt was a list of links and email addresses of Latin American sceners. Vinyl01g.txt was in Spanish only, it was a collection of quotes and IRC logs. Finally, Vinyl01h.txt contained the last words and the credits.

Not much to read for people who don't understand Spanish!
